1 Thessalonians 5 : 18
Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.
I do not cease to give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers
Everyday, we are wanting and needing. We seek for better and easy lives. We always wanted everything that we could benefit for. But have you thought of being grateful? When I say being grateful, I am actually relating to every circumstances in life – whether good or bad, small blessings or big, expected or unexpected.
When you wake up, what’s the first thing you’re doing?
The Bible teaches us to be grateful. Did you know that the word “thanksgiving” is mentioned in the Bible 69 times? It generally signified an expression of thanks to God, accompanied by prayers on behalf of God’s people. The Psalms are filled with words of thanks and gratitude.
Even Jesus thanked God for everything that He has given Him. He lived a life of gratitude and thanksgiving. New Testament’s stories can prove that. When he fed the multitudes, he first offered thanks to God. He also teaches a healed person to give thanks to God.
I won’t go on this blog so biblical. I just wanted to show you how the people in Bible times are thankful. I am just as guilty as you are for not thanking Him for everything that He’s giving us. Food, shelter, security and even the air we’re breathing are all given by Him. Remember that we don’t deserve anything but because of His grace and unconditional love, He is blessing us. We may have busy lives that causes us to neglect the simplicity of thanksgiving. But our God is a god of appreciation and He’s only waiting for us to utter the words “Thank You, Lord”.
As I start this blog, I would like to remind not only you but myself as well of the things that we should be thankful for (everyday). I am not a writer or whatsoever but this page is one way I’m thinking that can help me in growing spiritually.
I am a minister of Church, a servant of God. I was once a leader that was led astray. I have taken a wrong path. I neglected Him. I forgot His teachings and His importance. So today, as I commit myself to Him, I also am desiring to share to you how God has and will change my (and your) lives forever. I will honestly say to you that I am a backslider, a black sheep but I know that my salvation is a fact and I would like to start re-living it.
My prayer life and devotion has been empty for a long time. Now, I wanted to continuously praise Him and get to know Him more. So I want to keep track of my growth and my understanding about His personality.
I will start it by simply saying, “Thank you, Lord for giving me another chance to live closer to YOU …”
Always remember that we are sinners and Jesus is our Savior.
Thanks be to God!
